Super Junior: Renaissance men

Hello everyone! Beka here back again with another album review! This time it's about a few of my favs, my ult men, my first group, the one the only Super Junior!!!

Super Junior is back with their 10th studio album! Insane! These guys are in a world of their own! Firstly, if you don't know Super Junior or don't know much of their story. Make sure to check out our episode on them from season 1! It's a bit long, but you will get all the info you need! Okay, okay, now let's get to the album.

Super Junior dropped their full-length album, The Renaissance on, March 16th with 10 beautiful songs. Yes, I am biased but, there is no skip in this set. This comeback has been delayed for months due to scheduling, covid, and production but, we finally have it! It was totally worth the wait!

When they dropped their album, we got a giant showcase on MNET! It was amazing! It featured a few of their songs from the new album as well as 2 of their oldies. You can find the full list of videos on our Twitter page in a thread!

This comeback is even more special because we finally got all our members back from the military! Sadly, a few members have left the group or were not allowed to perform with the group. However, you got to hear their iconic sound in full force! It was glorious! We got rapper Heechul back, Eunhyuk and Ryeowook harmonizing again, and ending fairy mat-hyungs.

In this album, Super Junior gives us those classic vocals from K.R.Y, SJ's vocal unit, except this time they have a new arrangement. In their older songs, you see the vocal unit highlighted with the rest highlighted in their own respected styles. This time SJ kept their vocal team as the backbone of their sound and cleaned up their placement of other members to create the sound we all loved and missed. It echoes back to their first few albums, where you saw more of a melding of the group's voices. This time it's perfected and you get a beautiful harmony of vocals and moments of solo splendidness!

Their title track, House Party, is about being in lockdown and our current state of isolation. It's a fun take on something that we are all getting tired of. Super Junior tries to remind us we are doing this for the greater good. That way we can go back to our full lives soon! Their showcase for this song was so fun! I loved watching every minute of it!

This album also takes on a theme of love through the ages. The more you listen to the album, the more you understand it's a letter to their fandom E.L.F. It's intimate, endearing, and touching. You see their love and talent shine through in this entire album.

My favorite songs are Burn the Floor, The Melody, Paradox, Mystery, and More Days with You. All the songs are so unique, and you get to hear 2nd gen kings shine in their elements! When they called this album The Renaissance, they weren't kidding! It has a little bit of everything all while pushing musical boundaries!

I am so proud of them for this album! It's truly impressive pushing their vocal and performance boundaries! Check out their showcase stages! You get to see a polished, fun, expressive side of the team!
